I’ve heard and read about the film Blow Up in my history fashion class as it is meant to portray the Mod photographer David Bailey. I finally got around to watching it. Interesting.. especially the ending.

Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum is without a doubt in my top 10 of all time favorites. Season after season they deliver effortless sophistication. I was delighted to see bows galore (without being tacky of course). I personally have a bow obsession and I loved the waist belts with bows that showed up first at their pre-fall 2012 and again in the fall collection. I’ve been noticing how common in Florence it is for women to have belts over their winter jacket. I think it’s a nice touch, especially to a big puffy jacket; it reigns it in and gives the woman her figure or “la bella figura” as they say here. A soft feminine bow adds a nice touch to structured trenches and coats as well. I also loved the pockets on the hips which give a peplum effect.

A coat with lots of folds and drape is balanced with a cinched waist.

The baggy pockets at the hips combined with a belted waist gives off an hourglass effect. A pageboy hat gives old school glam while the cartoon-ish dog on the shirt gives it a whimsical charm.

The traditional Burberry trench gets a glam update via contrasting panels that give a peplum effect.

Triple threat: bows edition. Two of my favorite things: big shoulders and bows.. *sigh*

Leather gloves are all the rage for fall. personally these studded versions are the best in my book. refined and sophisticated with an edgy twist.

Die for this skirt..
